Do You Believe in Magic?
Magic might sound a bit “woo” to some, but I’m a firm believer. Surprising things happen all the time—your intuition whispers something, and it turns out to be gold dust. Your gut tells you something’s off, and there it is, unfolding before your eyes. Magic isn’t just about fairy tales; it’s about the extraordinary moments that emerge from tuning into our inner selves and the world around us.
Being creative taps into that magic.
Creativity and the Power of Intuition
Creativity thrives when we tap into our true energy centre and intuition. When we align our engagement with the world to our natural energy, that’s when the magic happens. Our thoughts hold immense power—what we think and believe shapes our perception of reality. The universe is a dynamic force, constantly shifting and flowing in an interplay of ideas and events. Creativity emerges from this interplay, manifesting uniquely for each individual. When we tune into this power, we create effortlessly, in harmony with our true nature.
Meditation: A Gateway to Alignment
For me, meditation is a cornerstone of staying aligned with my inner self. I meditate every morning and strive to reconnect with that meditative centre throughout the day. This practice helps me feel relaxed and grounded, allowing me to make decisions from the heart rather than being swept up by life’s distractions—news, notifications, and the constant demands on my time. I encourage you to break free from the grip of your phone (though that’s a topic for another day). By staying connected to your spiritual centre, you open yourself to a world of inspiration that many overlook.
The First Draft: Letting Ideas Flow
When I sit down to write a song or paint a picture, the first draft is always a free flow of intuitive ideas. This raw outpouring comes from a deep connection to my spiritual centre. The key is to create without judgement or mental editing. Let the ideas flow onto paper, canvas, or recording devices without filtering them. The first draft is never the final product—it’s an invitation to let inspiration pour through. Honour this initial burst of creativity and welcome all ideas with an open mind and heart.
Reflection and Editing: Refining the Magic
Once the flow of ideas has dried up, it’s time to step back and reflect. This is a crucial part of the creative process. At first, you might not see the bigger picture, but with time, the magic in your work will become clearer. Not everything will be golden, but there will be gems hidden in the material.
After reflection, put on your editing hat and refine your work. Strip away the unnecessary elements and hone it into a clear distillation of your best ideas.
The goal is to create something remarkable—something that resonates deeply, even if it polarises people.
Embracing the Remarkable
Remarkable work often sparks strong reactions, both positive and negative. That’s a good thing! If people are talking about your work, it means it’s worth remarking on.
You can’t please everyone, and you shouldn’t try to.
The point is to channel your ideas and create the best work possible with the tools and skills you have. With consistent practice, you’ll make progress, and the magic will continue to unfold. So, embrace the process, trust your intuition, and let your creativity shine!
